Our Mission: In Jesus, Gather, Grow, & Go

In Jesus

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” · Romans 3:23-24

Jesus is the only way to be connected to God and enjoy true life. Everything we do as a church revolves around him. We believe that he does all the work that really, eternally matters. We do none of it.

WELS: This is a mission we share with every Christian across the globe, and especially with the 300,000+ who make up the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (wels.net).

The Bible's Basic Message

Gather

“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” · Hebrews 10:24-25

Our goal as a church is to help each member of our spiritual family make regular worship and Bible study a spiritual habit. Worship is the foundation for every aspect of a Christian’s life. It’s that built-in time each week when we get to feed our faith and encourage one another.

Worship: Sundays at 8:00* & 10:30am* (also streamed), Mondays at 6:30pm

Bible Study & Sunday School: Sundays at 9:25am*

* From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the late service moves up to 10:00am and we offer a take home Bible study on Sunday and a Wednesday night study during the week.

Grow

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” · Romans 10:17

God’s greatest gift is saving faith. Faith is like a plant: it needs to be watered! The way God has given us to strengthen our faith is his Word and Sacraments. Our goal is keep the members of our spiritual family in God’s Word and growing.

Bible Basics: This course covers the basic teachings of the Bible—the basis for our faith.

Early Learning, Elementary, Sunday School, & Confirmation Class: We support the families of our congregation in their role of raising their children in the faith with our educational ministries, which offer care from infants – 8th grade.

High School: We support the ministry of Fox Valley Lutheran High School (fvlhs.org).

Give

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” · Romans 12:1

God has given us so much! We work to make it our habit to share our gifts with God and others (our time, talents, and treasures).

Regular Offerings: We encourage members of our congregation to make regular gifts to support the gospel ministry we do together both locally and worldwide through our synod. This is an expression of thankfulness and trust in God.

Regular Giving of Time and Talents: Most of the work of a church is done by volunteers—that takes a great deal of sacrifice. You may not be in a position to be involved in church beyond regular worship and Bible study, but we encourage you to consider it.

Regular Generosity: We encourage our members to make an attitude of generosity part of their day-to-day life.

Go

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” · Matthew 28:18-20

The message we’ve been given is too great not to share. The last spiritual habit we encourage is taking the good news of Jesus to those who don’t know it.

Truth in Love Mission Partnership: Our congregation partners with Truth in Love Ministry (tilm.org), based in Nampa, Idaho. They exist to share the good news of Jesus with Mormons and our support of their ministry encourages us to carry out that same ministry to those who don’t know Jesus here.

Who Do You Know: Who do you know who doesn’t go to church? Consider inviting them to worship, Bible basics, a church event, or simply have a conversation with them about your faith.
